President Trump is in Alaska, where he will meet with Russia's Vladimir Putin in an attempt to bring peace to the region after three years of war.
The President has said this will, hopefully, just be the first meeting, and that a potential second meeting could be more substantive and include Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He also is putting Putin on the spot. He wants more than just talk. He wants action to bring peace to Europe.
Zelenskyy has been on record as saying that he would not give up any land to Putin and Russia in any deal, and Trump told reporters about Air Force One that even though it's a talking point for Friday's meeting, that Ukraine will make the ultimate decision when it comes to territory.
Trump meets with Putin mid-afternoon Texas time, with a news conference to follow tonight. This is the first meeting between US and Russian leaders since 2021.
