It's Time To Stop Using Children As Political Pawns

We've started to see more and more, children be used as pawns to push political agendas. A prime example of this was last week when Harris County's Judge Lina Hidalgo tried to use a group of school children to pressure County Commissioners into voting for a property tax increase.

That incident sparked major backlash from both sides of the isle, with the Commissioners court voting for a bipartisan censure of the Judge, and the courts lone republican member announcing an effort to remove Hidalgo from office.

Unfortunately, this one example from an ever growing list of children being used to garner support for various political causes. More often then not, those causes come from the left, and are pushed on students in the classroom at increasingly younger ages.

Trenten Rippey with Young American's For Liberty is calling for an end to all of this, and says children should be able to learn, without becoming political pawns. He said, "Ge the propaganda out of schools. We've got to continue to expose these lies, and keep exposing these corrupt legislative agenda's that they're putting out.

Rippey did express support for children being educated about civics, and the political system, but not flat out indoctrinated. He said, "There's a lot of good alternative media that prods and pokes at a lot of different political ideologies and promotes free thinking.

He says that while everyone, including parents and teachers, will always have their own biases, it's always important to encourage children to challenge ideas and be free thinkers. Something he thinks isn't happening enough these days.
