Abbott Says Texas Democrats Who Fled Could Face Felony Bribery Charges

While the runaway Texas Democrats continue to send mixed messages, Governor Greg Abbott has sent a message that is crystal clear.

The derelict Dems who ran to blue states to break quorum, could face felony bribery charges.

According to local news reports, some of the runaway Democrats are planning on returning for a second special legislative session next week. But in an interview with Fox News Digital, Abbott said his office is looking into whether or not they violated bribery laws by taking money to leave.

"There had been some identification of some people paying for it," Abbott said. "I've got to tell you, it raises a serious legal question for these officeholders, and that is, they were promised money if they did break quorum. That would be a bribe that could lead to a felony charge."

Meanwhile, Texas AG Ken Paxton is also looking into whether the Democratic lawmakers could be hit with felony bribery charges.

But in breaking news this Wednesday afternoon, a judge in Adams County, Illinois has ruled against Paxton in his petition to have House Dems arrested out of state.

The ruling says the Illinois circuit court "does not have the inherent power" to direct Illinois LEO to execute the TX civil warrants.
