After Beating Democrats Again, Will Governor Abbott Try In Washington?

Not only is Governor Greg Abbott defeating the runaway Democrats here in Texas, he's been beating them on multiple levels for years. And now, some are wondering if he can do it next on the national level.

"A lot of people like to talk about that" said Bill Miller, longtime Texas political consultant, "And I always remind them there isn't really a better job in the world, than being the governor of Texas."

Which is why Abbott already said last year when his name came up as a possible V.P. candidate for president Trump, that he was planning on running for re-election again next year, in 2026.

"I think most people assume that he's running" Miller told KTRH, "He's raising money like crazy. Right now he's battling with Democrats and he's rallying Republicans to his positions. So, he's all but running a campaign anyway. He's in a good place."

So, where does that leave a possible presidential run for Abbott in 2028?

"I don't think it's something he thinks about all the time" noted Miller, "I think he has thought about it, but I think he's really settled in to the job as Governor and he's enjoying a great success.

Something that started when Abbott was first elected in 2014. Next year he will try to win a 4th consecutive term as the Governor of Texas.
