The runaway Texas Democrats may be having a nice time receiving the VIP treatment in gerrymandered 'blue states'. But history has shown, their publicity stunt is not going to end well.
If you don't believe that, just ask the Wisconsin Democrats who did the same thing several years ago.
"It did not end well for these Democrats at all" said Matt Kittle, senior elections correspondent at The Federalist, "About 3 weeks plus into this big public temper-tantrum, Republicans in the Senate met without Democrats and they passed the legislation. And this whole big political stunt was all for not."
Which is exactly the same outcome that is going to happen here in Texas. It's not a matter of if, just a matter of when.
"Their constituents elected them to do their job, even when that job might be difficult, when they might lose" noted Kittle, "And that is the case in Texas, they are going to eventually lose this battle."
The Wisconsin Democrats eventually lost in court, and then again in the ballot box.
