Ghislaine Maxwell, a woman considered the primary accomplice of the late Jeffrey Epstein, has been transferred from a Florida federal prison to Texas.
Both the old and new cells are said to be of minimum security, and she's sharing a jail cell with another inmate, just as her former partner, convicted child trafficker Epstein, did in his final days.
Ms. Maxwell has been transferred to the Federal Prison Camp Bryan, just outside Bryan/College Station, the home of Texas A&M University, about 100 miles northwest of Houston.
She's serving a 20-year sentence for child sex trafficking and is scheduled to testify before Congress this autumn.
Her move to Southeast Texas was considered unusual because she was transported from Florida in a US Bureau of Prisons van rather than a more official transport and was not accompanied by the usual escort by federal marshals -- plus the transfer was made at night.
She spoke with Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco this past week, which the US Justice Department said was part of its investigation into child trafficking networks of which Epstein may have been a part.
Jeffrey Epstein was found dead by hanging August 9th, 2019, according to official reports.
Other well-known inmates in the Bryan prison include "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" cast member Jen Shah and Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes.
