The number of homes waiting to be sold is increasing, and so is the amount of time it takes to sell those homes, but the good news is those statistics are better in Texas than most other areas of the country.
Global real estate advisor Ashley Massey says it can be misleading to look at national figures for home sales because the regional differences can be huge.
"With real estate it is like the weather, it is all very regional, but we definitely are seeing that some areas are leaning a little toward a buyers' market, in terms of the inventory numbers.
"There are pockets within which ever region you are at nationally, with some sitting for three or four months, some are in that six month inventory, and some that even have a little bit more."
But while the action has slowed somewhat in Texas over the past year, "If we continue to see Texas as a whole as being tax advantageous, good for relocation, good for businesses and families, we think it's a pretty safe place to be," she says.
