Country music star George Strait takes the stage today to help those struggling after the hill country’s devastating floods.
He headlines his “Strait to the Heart” benefit concert in Boerne today.
It’s aimed at raising direct support for flood victims and honoring first responders. Proceeds will go to the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund, which is coordinating donations and distribution.
Back when he announced the show, Strait posted on Instagram “The destruction and loss in our community from the recent floods is hard to wrap your head around. Our hearts and prayers are with you all.”
The sold-out show will include George and his Ace in the Hole Band, plus other performers like William Beckman, Ray Benson, Wade Bowen, Jamey Johnson, and others.
George posted “The goal with this event is to raise meaningful, immediate support that can be put directly into the hands of flood victims without delay, while also honoring the first responders that work tirelessly to save lives.”
