The State of Texas has banned the medical transition of minors in the state, but unfortunately, that doesn't mean Texas children aren't receiving permanent and often harmful medical gender intervention. This is thanks to non-governmental organizations that help transport children out of state.

This news broke during last week's poorly attended "Good Trouble Lives On" protests, meant to be a sequel to the national "No Kings" protests across the country, but according to the Texas Scorecard, it drew very few attendees.

One leftist who did attend the event was Mary Giles, founder of the group Parents of Trans Youth. She spoke with the Texas Scorecard at the protest and revealed that multiple NGOs across the country are aiding parents in transporting their children to states like California, New Mexico, and others to receive gender reassignment procedures that they can't legally obtain in Texas.

Giles told Texas Scorecard reporter Joseph Trimmer, "It is still legal for Texas transgender adolescents to receive gender-affirming care in other states; it's just really hard to get there." She went on to say these NGOs help with both travel or, in some cases, moving out of states like Texas entirely.

Trimmer says this news wasn't shocking to him. He said, "This is not surprising at all. In fact, the reason I asked the question is because I suspected that this was the case."

He went on to point out that we've seen the left do things like this to help residents of states where abortion has been banned obtain the procedure. He said, "It's really the same tactic applied to a range of issues. I was pretty sure this was happening; I just needed to confirm it."

Trimmer says that as of right now, it would appear that these NGOs across the country are operating primarily off of private funding in an attempt to avoid "the strings" attached to public funding.
