The death toll from the July 4th flood in the Hill Country has reached at least 132, with officials saying that there are about 100 people still missing.

This comes as a Commissioner in Kerr County says his life has been threatened in recent days.

“I’ve been getting death threats, can you imagine?” Commissioner Rich Paces said.

As for how long recovery operations will take, officials say months, if not years.

Sheriff Larry Leitha spoke about the ongoing search and recovery efforts. He said investigators will be “tapped out” for the next year, with work potentially continuing into winter.

“I think we’ll still go strong for another month or two, up to maybe six months winding down as we move on,” Leitha said.
