In New Judicial Challenge, Federal Judge Tries to Block ICE

Another federal judge is trying to stop enforcement action to catch illegal aliens.

Late yesterday, Los Angeles district judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong issued a restraining order against ICE agents.

The judge is a Biden appointee. The ruling demands ICE keep and turn over detailed records of stops and explain why agents stopped someone. The ruling also prohibits ICE from relying solely on race, ethnicity, language or accent as a basis for making an arrest. Homeland Security officials say accusations that they do are false. In a post on X, U.S. attorney Bill Essayli says ICE agents never detain anyone without proper legal justification and says agents will continue to enforce the law.
