DHS Warns of Lies In Linking Kerr County Disaster to DOGE

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) lashed out at some of the "mainstream media" on Sunday for trying to link a natural catastrophe in the Texas Hill County with Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts to the federal bureaucracy.

In a post on X about 5:30 Sunday evening, the DHS wrote, "The mainstream media is deliberately lying about the events leading up to the catastrophic flooding in Texas.

"The National Weather Service executed timely, precise forecasting and warnings, despite unprecedented rainfall overwhelming the region."

The agency then provided a timeline of efforts to bring vital information to Texans in the area during the hours before extreme storms dropped more than ten inches of rain on some areas near Kerrville, northwest of San Antonio.

Our TV partner KPRC Channel 2 also provides a rundown of how the weather progressed in the early Friday morning hours that brought so much rain and devastation to the Kerrville area.
