After getting holdouts in line, The House was expected to vote on President Donald Trump's Big, Beautiful Bill Thursday morning.

However, no vote has taken place because House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is stalling with a speech that started after 4am Houston time, and was still going as of 9:30am.

The stalling tactic Jeffries is using is one that he called out when Republicans tried to stop the Biden agenda in late 2021.

Earlier on Thursday, the House voted to advance the $3.3 trillion package to its final phase in Congress, overcoming fears of a potential Republican mutiny. The House adopted the rules for debate on the measure in a dramatic 219 to 213 vote – with all but moderate Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., voting to proceed.

There had been five holdouts up until that point.

That said, there are several Republicans that still have problems with the package, including Texas' Chip Roy.

Roy told Newsmax, :"Now we get to the final product and the Senate, frankly, they didn't deliver. So now what we're trying to understand is what can be done legislatively and if not legislatively what else can be done to make sure that when this stuff is implemented that deficits aren't going to be higher and that we're going to be in a position where the Green New Scam subsidies aren't going to continue to undermine our grid and undermine energy reliability in the state of Texas and everywhere else," he added.

President Trump is trying to pressure the fiscal hawks, and taking to Truth Social to do so.
