According to a new Pew poll, the majority of Americans now backs teacher led prayer in schools.
"There's a real hunger amongst Americans to get back to the basics, and those basics are very simple, a love of God, family, and country" said Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project.
The left leaning poll shows a sharp divide between red states and blue states.
"Test scores are so bad that only a third of kids can read or do math at grade level" Schilling told KTRH, "That's why I think a large amount of Americans want to return back to the basics, like prayer in public school. I think this is a new dawn in America."
Here in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott recently signed two faith bills into a law. One, mandating time for prayer and religious text reading, along with the display of the Ten Commandments in public school classrooms.
