President Trump is not happy with either Israel or Iran, telling reporters that both sides have violated terms of the ceasefire he brokered on Monday. The Israelis have since said they will stand down from heavy strikes on the Iranians.
Earlier, Israel vowed swift retaliation after Iran violated the newly brokered ceasefire with a ballistic missile launch. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office said the strike broke the truce and warned that Israel will “respond forcefully” to any further aggression. Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the IDF to hit regime targets in Tehran. Fox's Mike Tobin is in Israel and confirmed the latest attack on social media.
On Monday President Trump claimed victory after brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, ending what he called the “12-day war.” Israel confirmed late Monday it has agreed to the deal, crediting Trump and the U.S. for helping neutralize what it called two existential threats, nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. Trump posted on Truth Social that a “complete and total ceasefire” would be in effect.
Vice President J.D. Vance and others credited Trump’s show of military force as the turning point in the conflict, saying it forced Iran to the table. Rep. Marlin Stutzman said the B-2 bombers sent a global message: negotiate, or face consequences. Vance added the brief conflict may serve as a “reset” for long-term peace in the Middle East.
Democrats, meanwhile, remained largely silent. A review of Democratic leaders’ public statements showed no acknowledgment of the ceasefire as of Monday night.
