A jury has sentenced Oscar Rosales to death, after he was found guilty of capital murder in the death of Harris County Precinct 5 Deputy Constable Charles Galloway in 2022.
Rosales killed Deputy Constable Charles Galloway during a traffic stop in 2022. Galloway pulled over Rosales' white Toyota Avalon for a traffic stop. Rosales got out of the Toyota and immediately opened fire. Galloway was killed before he could even get out of his patrol vehicle.
Rosales then fled the country and was eventually arrested in Mexico. The jury deliberated for 5 hours on Thursday, and then 4 hours today, before coming back with a death penalty verdict.
Galloway was with the department for 12 years at the time of his murder. He was survived by his daughter and sister.
