Trump's Plan To Slash 'Woke' Foreign Aid & NPR Funds Clears House

Today was another win in Washington for president Donald Trump, as The House of Representatives passed Trump's $9.4 billion plan to scale back federal funds for foreign aid, PBS and NPR.

The vote was along party lines, with no Democrats voting for the bill. Some of the cuts include an $8.3 billion rollback of funding to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and just over $1 billion in cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funnels federal dollars to NPR and PBS.

Trump, and Republican leaders have pointed out multiple times that the majority of the USAID dollars getting cut were actually being used on "woke" programs like $1 million for voter ID in Haiti and $3 million for Iraqi Sesame Street.

The legislation will now be sent to the GOP-led Senate for consideration.
