There's Bad News For Texas Senator John Cornyn In His Re-Election Bid

The Texas Senate race is -not- heating up, but there's another new poll out, and it is not good for longtime incumbent John Cornyn.

According to the latest data, Cornyn trails fellow Republican and Texas AG Ken Paxton by 20 points!

"Well, I think with any poll you always have to ask the question, who funded the poll?" said Mark Jones, political science professor at Rice University, "The most recent poll was done by supporters of Ken Paxton."

Plus, it's worth pointing out that the polling numbers do not include a possible run, for Houston Congressman Wesley Hunt, who has been rumored as a possible candidate for quite some time.

"Wesley Hunt would change the dynamics of the race" Jones told KTRH, "He has a very safe seat in Congress, so he doesn't need to really make any decisions about whether or not to run for re-election until at least November."

Either way, John Cornyn has his work cut out for him, if he wants to win another six year term.

The GOP Primary here in Texas is set for March of 2026.
