With illegal immigration once again front and center in the U.S., there are more stunning facts in the aftermath of what was, a wide open border.
Compiling the latest data, it turns out nearly 1/4 of public school students, could be 'anchor' babies. An 'anchor' baby is a child born to non-citizen parents in the U.S., which then grants birthright citizenship. (We'll find out what the U.S. Supreme Court has to say about that later this month.)
"It's a staggering number" said Joy Pullman, columnist at The Federalist, "I was so surprised by that."
When you do the math, currently 17% of all children in the U.S. have at least one parent that's an illegal immigrant. You add to that, the fact that only 80% of American kids attend public schools, and that adds up to over 22% of public school enrolled kids coming from illegals.
"We're talking about billions of dollars of American taxpayers funding for children who really do not have a legal right, or a moral right to be in the United States" Pullman told KTRH, adding that "This is just an article about what people unlawfully present in the United States are taking from taxpayers in terms of public school tuition."
It's one of the many issues facing our public education system, and one of the many benefits being given to illegal immigrants, along with Social Security, Medicaid, Welfare, Food Stamps, and Housing Vouchers, all paid for by American taxpayers.
