Democrats Still In 2008 As Trump Dominates Pop Culture Scene

Not so long ago, Democrats were the 'it' party among American politics. The party was dominant in pop culture and were rising to new levels of popularity. Barack Obama was on the rise, seen in 2008 as some pioneer to a better future. Then he committed war crimes, killed Americans in drone strikes, and robbed Americans with a massive buyout deal. Since then, it has been all downhill for the Democrats.

Their new platform for 'change' has somehow become this warped bit of fantasy, where they believe illegal aliens are our saviors, we should be kind to murderers with low bonds, and anyone who disagrees with what they say is a racist of fascist. Combine that with race baiting and an overall message of hate, and you have a party on the fringe of irrelevance in American politics just 17 years later.

President Trump meanwhile has risen to the top of pop culture. He is mentioned constantly, and he is always out at UFC fights, or doing interviews with podcasters. He is not just appearing though, he is building relationships, signaling to Americans that he genuinely for the people.

Florida Congressional candidate Raven Harrison says in that span, Trump has ascended while the Democrats continue shooting themselves in the foot. They have even hurt themselves with their most important base.

"Gen-Z was the group that put President Trump over the edge to win the White House...that is supposed to be the foundation of who the Democrat party are...he is winning the culture war, proven by the fact he is President right now, instead of Kamala Harris," she says.

Trump has not just used these various younger-aged platforms for personal use. He has included many of these influences, giving a sense of belonging.

All that while Democrats continue the same pandering they have for the last ten years. Fascism this, dictator that. It has become white noise, and people do not care anymore. Part of the problem too is the party has no face, no leadership, and no real platform on which to stand.

"They are the party of calling anyone that does not agree with them a racist, and the party of agree with us or we will cancel you," says Harrison. "People are overwhelmingly rejecting this premise."

People have been rejecting the Democrat ideas for a while now, with more and more career-long party members leaving. They somehow believe the further they dig left, the more it will help them. It has become the opposite.

Republicans do have some of their own problems, though, even as they continue winning the culture war. There are numerous old school, Bush-era GOP members who fight President Trump tooth and nail on every policy change.

As midterms lurk around the corner, the unity will be critical to shore up, if the Republicans want to continue winning over the younger generation.

"Republicans have to stop the infighting, and start getting on board with President Trump's agenda, or they will get decimated in the midterms," Harrison says.

She adds that now is the time to get in true Republicans. But that is easier said than done, especially with the ever-changing mind of Americas younger people.

But for now, Trump and the GOP are winning the culture war. Unless the Democrats wake up and realize their message is not only stale, but divisive, then that will continue as we ride into 2026.
