Texas Has a New Cybersecurity Committee

Texas is one of the first states to take an extremely serious position against cyberattacks by setting up a state-established cyber-security committee.

The Texas Cyber-Command is setting up at the University of Texas San Antonio, now that Governor Greg Abbott signed a bill that officially establishes the committee, which he says is needed more and more each day.

"There are thousands of attacks on Texans every single second of every single day. Attacks that originate from several different countries, including Russia, China and Iran.

The reasons for setting up the Cybercommand in San Antonio is simply that the university is now recognized as "one of the premiere institutions in America for dealing with cybersecurity.

"Their bachelor's degree in cybersecurity is ranked among the very best in the United States."
