There's a new poll out that shows Democrats are likely backing one candidate for president in 2028, and his name is Pete Buttigieg, but what do non-Democrats think of that?
Well, there's Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt, who just completed a highly intensive five or six months at the state legislature. His first response to the news of that poll was to laugh, but added, "I think they need to go back to the bench and find somebody else, but that's up to the Democrat primary voters."
And Texas State Representative Briscoe Cain said he can't imagine it.
"We can laugh but there may be something they know that we don't know. I mean, I would hate to see polling that shows that Buttigieg is the guy."
In the poll, former US Secretary of Transportation Buttigieg was approved as a possible presidential candidate by more than 31% of Democrats polled, while Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a distant second with almost 20%.
