Man Turns Himself In After Sunday Stabbing

A man is in jail after surrendering to Houston Police in connection with the Sunday stabbing and killing of a man on the city's northwest side.

Police were called to an apartment complex near T. C. Jester at 34th St., only to find one man who had been fatally stabbed.

Officers said they found the victim on a sidewalk and it appeared he had been stabbed several times.

Later, a 911 operator received a call from a man who said he was connected to the stabbing.

That man, identified as 37-year-old Juan Manuel Atrguetta Avila, surrendered to police a little later and is being held in jail pending an investigation.

The victim's identity has not been released to the public.
