Accused Colorado Terror Suspect Here Illegally, Charged With Hate Crime

The man charged in the terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado has been hit with multiple charges including murder, and now you can add to that, a federal hate crime.

Mohamed Soliman of Egypt was reportedly in the US illegally when he attacked a group of people marching to support Israeli hostages still being held in Gaza. Reports indicate Mohamed Soliman overstayed his visa after entering the U.S. in 2022. Soliman will appear in court later today.

Authorities say Soliman yelled "Free Palestine" during the attack yesterday, the beginning of the Jewish holiday of Shavuot. It happened just a week after a man who also yelled "Free Palestine" was charged with fatally shooting two Israeli embassy staffers outside of a Jewish museum in Washington.

Governor Jared Polis called the attack “heinous” and vowed the suspect would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Original Story

The FBI is looking into an attack at an outdoor mall in Boulder, Colorado Sunday afternoon as an act of terror.

Officials with the Boulder Police Department confirmed a man set people on fire at this outdoor mall.

Witnesses told CBS News the suspect used Molotov cocktails to attack people walking for "Run for Their Lives," a grassroot organization that facilitates global run and walk events calling for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

FBI Director Kash Patel has called this ”targeted terror attack.” So has Colorado Governor Jared Polis. Police have yet to confirm that.
They did say the attacker is in custody and that several people were hurt.
