Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick Calls On Media To Get The Story Right On THC Ban

Even though Senate Bill 3 has already passed, and is on it's way to Governor Greg Abbott's desk for his signature, Lt. Governor Dan Patrick held a news conference in Austin with GOP Senators, to push back on some of the criticism of the statewide ban on THC products.

"The story's about jobs, and mom and pop businesses, this is all controlled by the drug industry and California" Patrick said, "They never dreamed we would ban it. They thought they had hit the goldmine in Texas, and I'm proud of the Senators and the House members that stood up and said you're not going to do this in Texas."

The bill passed by a vote of 25-6, and now the left and the media are trying to persuade Governor Abbott to veto it.

"The industry is doing everything they can" Patrick pointed out, "I'm not worried about the governor, I'm worried about the pressure on the media and the general public to try to keep this going in some way and bring it back. These are bad actors, these are people who want to kill your kids, and they don't give a damn."

Abbott was sent the bill yesterday, and has until June 22nd to veto any bills passed during the 89th legislative session.
