Lost Cause: Dems Propose 'Shadow Cabinet' to Counter Trump

Democrats are growing increasingly desperate and bizarre in their attempts to steer out of their political nosedive and successfully challenge Donald Trump. The latest bad idea is a "shadow cabinet," made up of people in various fields who can counter the Trump administration on specific issues. The idea was first proposed by Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, but now a POLITICO writer has gone a step further and created this fantasy cabinet for Dems, complete with a list of names. It is hard to tell if the proposal is tongue-in-cheek or actually meant to be serious...but it is already the subject of mockery.

The proposed Dem cabinet includes the likes of Jon Stewart, Mark Cuban, comedian Nikki Glaser, one-time comedian turned fake-scientist Bill Nye, and New York Attorney General Letitia James (who is facing a criminal fraud investigation). At this point, all conservatives can do is shake their heads and laugh. "A shadow cabinet? We already had a shadow cabinet running this country...it was called the Biden administration, when we had a president whose brain turned to applesauce and all these other people were running the auto pen," says Joe Concha, Fox News media analyst. "But perhaps Bill Nye the Science Guy, Nikki Glaser, Letitia James---who may be going to jail---those could be considered possible upgrades compared to what we just saw under Biden."

Not only is this a bad idea, but as usual the Democrats' timing is awful since Trump's approval ratings are starting to rise again. "More and more polls show Trump exceeding 50% approval," says Concha. "So when you look at this proposed shadow government, I don't understand the point, because the current government, according to the people, is doing quite well on the economy, on the border, and on all the issues that people care about most."
