Charged Up: Billions in Government Credit Card Waste Uncovered

Despite Democrats claiming there is no need for DOGE (because there is apparently no fraud or wasteful spending in the government), the overwhelming evidence continues to prove otherwise. DOGE has been tracking billions in waste for months, including notably outlandish federal grants. But the latest example may be the most egregious. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) told Breitbart's Alex Marlow Show she worked with DOGE to uncover massive fraud on government credit cards.

"The federal government, through GSA credit cards, has 4.6 million active credit cards and accounts" said Ernst. "Well, we have a little less than half that number in federal employees...so we're trying to figure out where the heck all of these credit cards are."

Ernst added that in all, $60 billion has been charged to these 4.6 million cards. While that amount is staggering, the larger issue is what the charges were for. "(These cards) were used on New Year's Eve, at nightclubs and bars, or on Sunday afternoons for a big UFC fight on pay-per-view," she said. "There were cash withdrawals at ATMs at casinos."

"So my question is, why was nobody auditing the statements and calling into question all these purchases, all of these withdrawals, and why on Earth we have so many credit cards?"

Ernst went on to say DOGE notified her that about 500,000 of the cards have now been canceled, but that still leaves more than 4 million in circulation, many of them unaccounted for.
