New Polling Suggests AOC Could Be The New Face Of The Democrat Party

The Democratic Party is continuing to search for its next leader after Kamala Harris’s disastrous November 2024 election loss, and according to the results of a recent poll, that search doesn’t seem to be going too well.

The poll, conducted by Co/Efficient, says that 26% of voters view New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the face of the Democratic Party. Another 26% of people say that the Democratic Party has no leader at all.

Political consultant Luke Macias says this is a perfect example of how the Democrats keep sliding farther and farther to the left. He said, "The progressive wing of the party is in control of the party apparatus and the policy initiatives they’re pushing, and those are unpopular with the American people."

Meanwhile, President Trump and the Republicans continue to win more and more support from mainstream Americans, likely leading to his decisive 2024 victory, but the Democrats still refuse to move back to the center and try to pick up some of those moderate voters.

According to Macias, there’s a simple reason for that. He said, "They are religiously committed to open borders, they’re religiously committed to destroying our economy through the Green New Deal, they can’t back off from these positions."

He said Democratic Party leadership has gone so far to the left that they can’t turn around or attract new voters. He warned against Republicans getting too confident, saying that despite the broad disapproval many Americans have with the Democratic Party, the GOP still needs to put its best foot forward during the upcoming 2026 midterms.
