KP George Back In Court, Arraigned On Felony Money Laundering Charges

Fort Bend County Judge KP George was back in court today, this time arraigned on serious felony money laundering charges tied to his campaign.

According to reports, George is accused of laundering between $30,000 and $150,000 in each case, between January 12 and April 22 of 2019.

In a separate case last September, George was indicted on charges of misrepresenting his identity as a candidate.

In court today, George once again refused to comment to reporters, but his legal team requested that his trial be moved to another courtroom or even another county. Right now judge Maggie Jaramillo is handling the case in Fort Bend County.

Despite mounting pressure, the FBC Democrat has refused to step down. He is due back in court again on June 26th.

Under Texas law, if convicted, George will have to resign his position.
