Comey Questioned by Secret Service After '86 47' Social Media Post

Former FBI Director James Comey Testifies Before House Judiciary Committee

The former FBI Director was grilled by Secret Service Agents after a social media post that said '86 47,' which many took as a threat to President Donald Trump.

A lawyer for Comey declined to comment.

But earlier, Comey did back off of his post, writing on social media, "I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I assumed were a political message," the subsequent post from Comey said. "I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down."
