Are Republicans In Congress Wasting A Golden Opportunity?

House Republicans have finally started their hearings on president Trump's "big, beautiful bill". But they might also be ignoring an opportunity for greatness.

"Absolutely" said Aaron Evans, president of Winning Republican Strategies, "Look, I think president Trump should not have to pressure. We all know what we campaigned on."

Unfortunately, this feels eerily similar to Trump's first term, when the mandate was there, but the House GOP failed to deliver.

"If we look at history, every time Republican's get control, and we go back to president Trump's first term, we had the super majority and were unable to fix the Obama-care mess" Evans told KTRH, "Not because of Democrats, but because of Republicans not having the courage and willingness to do exactly what the American people were demanding."

But they do have a chance to get things done this time around. Hopefully, history won't repeat itself.

"We don't have kings in America for a reason, we have congress" noted Evans, "And so, I do hope that Republicans in congress realize the importance of having courage and fortitude, and doing the right thing."

If not, it will be the wrong thing. Just like in Trump's first term.
