With the legislative session coming to a close, Texas lawmakers are now taking aim at preventing extreme 'red flag laws' from ever coming into Texas.
Specifically, they're called 'extreme risk protective orders', aka ERPO's.
"To prevent other states and bureaucratic bodies from issuing 'extreme risk protective orders' that Texas will have to honor" said Texas state representative, Mitch Little, "We want to make sure people's 2nd Amendment rights are protected here in our state, and we hope to have it on the floor very soon as a senate bill."
That would SB 1362, which they hope to get through by the end of the week.
"In many ways, this bill makes Texas a sanctuary state from these extreme risk protective orders that could be issued by the V.A. or other states, and have to be given full faith and credit here in the state of Texas, which we don't want."
What they do want, is to protect law-abiding Texas gun owners.
