We know that U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-Texas) is going to be challenged by at least AG Ken Paxton, if not other Republicans. But guess who might run again for the Democrats?
Despite 3 straight losses in 2018, 2020, and 2022, Robert Francis 'Beto' O'Rourke is hinting at running again.
"The truth is, after you've lost 3 straight elections, you really need to rethink your position" said longtime Texas political consultant, Bill Miller, "O'Rourke is a retread for the Democrats, and I think the outcome would probably be the same as it's been his last 3 elections"
But what about Beto's belief that the 4th time will be the charm?
"I don't think so, I just don't think he's got what it takes to run a close race, let alone win it" noted Miller, "There was a time when he was super popular and he raised millions of dollars, but that day has passed and it's not going to be recaptured. That glory is gone."
He believes Beto would lose big to either John Cornyn, or Ken Paxton.
Neither Beto, or any other Democrat has officially announced running for the seat.
According to reports, Beto burned through roughly $175 million dollars, in his 3 failed bids.
