KP George Social Media Hearing Reset

A hearing for embattled Fort Bend County Judge KP George was rescheduled after his appearance in court this morning.

George, alongside a former staffer, stands accused of using fake social media accounts to spread racist messages against himself in a bid to garner sympathy from voters.

He appeared in court today with his attorneys, Terry Yates and Jared Woodfill. Woodfill is notably the former chairman of the Harris County Republican Party.

George's attorneys, along with prosecutors, agreed to reset after prosecutors said that "additional device extractions" need to be completed.

Prosecutors did say, however, that they have most of the evidence that they need in order to move the case forward.

Taral Patel, the staffer who was allegedly working with George on the scandal, has already pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges and will be on probation for the next two years.

George is also facing two third-degree felony charges of money laundering on top of the social media hoax allegations.
