The Dallas-To-Houston High-Speed Rail Project Is Still Not Dead Yet

Even though the Trump administration recently terminated a $63 million dollar grant for federal funding to help Amtrak with the Houston to Dallas high speed rail, Texas Central, the group running the project says it's not dead yet.

"They're refusing to give up the ghost as it were, as it relates to this project" said Texas state representative, Mitch Little.

Not giving it up, while also needing a lot of financial help from foreign investors. One big question is, does anybody really care about the high speed rail at this point?

"I truly don't understand who the intended end user of this product is" Little told KTRH, "This rail project seems to be primarily a government boondoggle."

And then there's the other issue of how many Texans the project will actually hurt.

"Farmers, landowners, ranchers having to give up their assets and their real estate in order to make this thing happen, which we're not even sure if anybody really wants it" noted Little.

It's also worth noting that the Texas Central group has yet to release a meaningful ridership study for the high speed rail, which is expected to take between 80 to 86 months to complete.
