Metcalf Father Has Home Swatted Hours After Tense Anthony Press Conference

The father of slain Texas teen Austin Metcalf had his home swatted just hours after appearing at a press conference hosted by the spokesman for the family of Karmelo Anthony, Metcalf's alleged killer.

Jeff Metcalf told Fox News that his home was swatted Thursday night. The Frisco Police Department also confirmed the swatting call.

Earlier that day, Metcalf attended the press conference where Dominique Alexander, head of the activist group Next Generation Action Network and spokesperson for the Anthony family, spoke and also criticized Metcalf for being there.

"What we've seen at the beginning of this press conference, of the father being at this press conference, these are my words - don't quote anybody - is a disrespect to the dignity of his son," Alexander said.

Metcalf was threatened with criminal charges if he did not leave the press conference. He then left with a police escort from the Dallas Police Department.

17-year-old Karmelo Anthony is charged with murdering Metcalf after the two got into a dispute under a tent at a high school track meet on April 2 in Frisco. Anthony allegedly stabbed Metcalf, who died in his twin brother's arms.

Earlier in the week, Anthony was released from the Collin County Jail after his bond was lowered from $1 million to $250,000. The Anthony family has come under fire over how hundreds of thousands of dollars raised for them online were being spent, including on luxury cars and a new home.
