Governor Greg Abbott announced today that Texas is once again leading the nation in job growth over the last twelve months. Texas added 192,100 nonfarm jobs from March 2024 to March 2025.
According to a press release from his office, Labor Department data from March 2025 indicates that Texas has also set yet another record for the size of the state's labor force, with over 15,778,000 workers.
Abbott said in the statement that, "Every month, Texas welcomes businesses from across the country and around the world to innovate and invest in our great state. By funding our schools more than ever before and expanding career and technical training programs, we will prepare more Texans for better job and bigger paycheck opportunities to build a more prosperous Texas.”
But that's not where the good news ends. According to the Labor Department, Texas added 26,500 nonfarm jobs, for a new high of 14,282,600. Texas also set a new record for employment at 15,137,500, including those that are self-employed.
