In the aftermath of 'school choice' finally passing here in Texas, there's another bill that could reshape how history and race are taught at state universities.
It's Senate Bill 37, which would basically bring back the proper authority to the various board of regents, while taking it away from woke administrators and their radical agenda.
"What it does is, it gives the power to run our universities to the business men and women appointed by the duly elected governor of the state of Texas" said Sherry Sylvester, distinguished senior fellow with the Texas Public Policy Foundation, "Over the years that power has shifted to faculty and administrators, and they have begun to think that they run the universities."
But, according to the Texas Constitution, they do not. And considering how many millions of taxpayer dollars are given to state universities every single year, SB 37 is needed to restore the curriculum.
"Reshaping, refocusing, is definitely in order" Sylvester told KTRH, "The curriculum has to be readdressed by people who live and work in the real world."
SB 37 already passed in the Senate, and is now on it's way to the Texas House.
