As with anytime someone says something remotely positive about President Trump, the radical Left is now throwing temper tantrums over Bill Maher's recent positive monologue. Maher recently met with President Trump at a dinner and had nothing but positives to say. Maher, who used to slam Trump constantly, said of his dinner he "never had to walk on eggshells," adding that he feels it is "emblematic of why the Democrats are so unpopular these days."
Indeed, Democrat support has been tanking in recent weeks, especially with their unhinged support for criminal illegal aliens. But Maher is a career Democrat, and the Left is now eating Maher alive simply for being in the same room with Trump, never mind saying anything positive. It all encapsulates just how far Left, and how far into crazy town the party has traveled.
Beckie Noble of TheRedState.com says this is just not surprising anymore.
"You knew the Left was not going to be happy with him just because he said some nice things about Trump," she says.
It is just what we have come to expect from the Left. Anything that is remotely a dissent to their warped world view, and view of President Trump, is met with anger and protests. Again, it is just one of many examples of why the party is falling apart, and more people are drifting away from them.
They have said Maher did this to be 'self-preserving,' and some have even called him a Trump lover now. All because he simply sat, had a conversation with him, and said the conversation was positive. Maher even said he felt more comfortable talking with Trump than he ever did with people like Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton. Which, as you would expect, fueled the temper tantrums even further.
All told, it was a brave thing for Maher to do. Simply because he knew it would be met with backlash. But it was also a big wake up call for him, and anyone else on the moderate side of the party.
"He is only for the first time finally stepping over the line, and getting out of the propaganda press, and starting to see everything he was told and everything he pedaled himself were untrue," says Noble.
Reality checks come swiftly, and many Democrats are being hit with one now, as even one of their own has positive things to say about Trump.
Brianna Lyman of The Federalist says this is just another example of the Left eating its own because they just lack a desire for fairness.
"Democrats require thought orthodoxy...they do not see any way to have a society in which there can be diversity...because if there is a society with diversity, it threatens their power," says Lyman.
That is all it is about for Democrats now. They do not care about Americans thriving. They do not care about making America safer for people. They care about power, staying on the gravy train of kickback money, and keeping their thumb down on Americans.
