It's essentially an even split between federal workers that want to return to the office and those that don't.

According to a Washington Post-Ipsos poll, 50% oppose the return-to-office mandate while 49% support it. Another 25% say they are actively looking for another job.

The poll also found that 85% of federal employees who say their duties can be performed from home oppose the mandate. Although, 70% who say they can't work from home are backing it.

The Trump administration has ordered for all U.S. federal government employees to return to the office, an order that was sent out by President Trump on his first day of his second term.

Tens of thousands of government workers have been working from home since the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100,000 workers have already left the federal government after being fired or taking a buyout.

571 current civilian federal government workers took part in the Washington Post-Ipsos poll which was conducted Feb. 28-March 10. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 5.3 percentage points.
