As expected, leftists aren’t too happy with Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos moving the company more towards the center. He announced recently that the Post’s opinion page would be revamped, and focus on personal liberties, and free markets.

This move towards the center has resulted in leftists demonizing both Jeff Bezos and the Washington Post.

Political consultant Vlad Davidiuk says that just like with Twitter (now Elon Musk’s “X”), leftists feel their control of the narrative slowly slipping away. He said, “They have been the gatekeepers. It’s not surprising at all for them to now have a complete meltdown with regard to these changes taking place.”

He went on to say that for years now, the left has been living in an echo chamber, and as it starts to break down, they’re realizing they can’t survive without it. He said, “They need exclusivity, they need to have a monopoly on control. And now as we’re seeing, they need direct funding from the government to stay afloat.”

Davidiuk went on to point out that as much as they might hate it, more left-wing outlets are going to have to follow suit if they want to stay in business. He said that, “The vast majority of news outlets are going to have to shift to meet market demand. Right now, most news outlets, certainly a lot of newspapers, are bleeding viewers and subscribers.”
