Texas Ag Commissioner Advises Caution After Death of Texas Rancher

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller is advising anyone who travels near or across the Texas-Mexico border to use extreme caution, following the tragic death of an American rancher near Brownsville.

According to an announcement from the Commissioner, the rancher, who was not identified by the Commissioner's Office, was killed two hours south of Brownsville by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Miller called the incident a "shocking act of violence" and went on to encourage everyone in the area to remain vigilant and aware. He also advised anyone in the area to refrain from touching unfamiliar objects.
