Spurs Shut Down Victor Wembanyama Due To Blood Clot In Shoulder

The San Antonio Spurs will take the floor tonight without their biggest star, big man Victor Wembanyama who has been shut down for the rest of the season due to a blood clot in his shoulder.

The team made the announcement this morning, calling it a ' deep vein thrombosis in his right shoulder', which was discovered when Wemby returned from the All-Star Game in San Francisco.

It's a huge blow to the Spurs who are currently 3 1/2 games out of 10th in the Western Conference. Wembanyama, the NBA's reining Rookie of the Year made his first All-Star appearance, but will not be eligible for any awards this season because he did not play in the minimum of 65 games.
