More than 1,000 Illegals Arrested in ICE Operations

Only a week after the inauguration of President Donald Trump and ICE raids are underway in Texas.

More than 1,000 illegal aliens were arrested in various operations across the country, including Harris County.

The first of them was in Austin on Sunday, where U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel joined other law enforcement agencies for what one spokesperson referred to as "targeted enforcement actions."

The raids came after President Trump promised swift and strict action to round up illegal immigrants and deport them soon.

ICE acknowledged the raids and provided this statement on Sunday evening about it's operation:

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, along with federal partners including the DEA and ATF began conducting enhanced targeted operations today in Austin to enforce U.S. immigration law and preserve public safety and national security by keeping potentially dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities.”

There are reported to be 1.6 million undocumented people in Texas.
