Two new Texas legislative committees are considering whether the state needs to regulate the use of artificial intelligence. The A-I Advisory Council is looking into how state government is already using A-I, with an eye to creating a code of conduct for the agencies to follow. In addition, the Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies held its first meeting April 29th. There are no federal consumer protections for data use, so each state has to regulate how tech companies handle users' personal info.
