A statement from a University of Texas spokesman says 45 of the 79 pro-Palestinian protesters arrested on Monday aren't students at the school. The spokesman says the police confiscated weapons from protesters on Monday, including guns, bricks, mallets, chains, wooden planks reinforced with steel, and buckets full of large rocks. He said protesters have assaulted and threatened U-T staff, thrown horse dung at police, and slashed the tires of police cars.
