A California mother was horrified when she found a woman's body in her son's bedroom. The Los Angeles Police Department said that the woman noticed a "distinct gas smell" in her house and went to check the room of her 26-year-old son around 1 a.m. on Sunday (August 13) morning.
When she entered her son's room, she discovered a female body wrapped in plastic and immediately called 911. When paramedics arrived at her home, the woman was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities said the victim was identified as 30-year-old Hannah Rachel Collins by the L.A. County Coroner's Office.
It is unknown how long the woman had been in the man's room. Officials are awaiting the autopsy result to determine how and when she died.
The police said that the woman's 26-year-old son is the main suspect in the homicide investigation, but they do not have him in custody as of Tuesday afternoon and did not release his identity to the public.
