Firefighters are responding to reports of a gas leak at a construction site in Downtown Dallas.

Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said a construction crew hit a 6 to 8-inch gas line in a parking lot near Pearl and Flora streets just after 10 a.m. Monday. That’s in the Dallas Arts District.

Several neighboring buildings have been evacuated as a precaution. Both Olive and Pearl streets are now closed at Ross Avenue and the Woodall Rogers exit ramp to Pearl Street has been shut down.

Atmos and hazmat crews have been called to the scene to address the leak, Evans said.
