Federal authorities are accusing an 18-year-old Houston man of supporting ISIS in a plot to commit terrorist acts in the United States.
Kaan Damlarkaya, an American-born citizen, is charged with illegally distributing bomb-making instructions and trying to provide material support to ISIS. Damlarkaya spoke online to undercover FBI agents starting in August. He was arrested Friday and has a court hearing later this week.
Other details about the suspect include that he provided the undercover agent with how-to instructions on building an AK-47 and how to use a machete.
The suspect is the third resident of the Houston area to be arrested for supporting ISIS in recent years.
