Two Republicans Look To Change Up The Tax Bill

House GOP Leadership Discuss The House Vote on Republican Tax Plan

Utah Senator Mike Lee is working with a fellow Republican senator to help more parents benefit from a child tax credit.

Lee and Florida Senator Marco Rubio want to amend the current plan being considered in the Senate to allow the child tax credit to be applied to payroll taxes. It would give parents more money in their paycheck instead of waiting for their refund.

That’s not all the duo is trying to change. The current plan in the debate would leave out millions of poor families, but lee And Rubio want to bring them back in by taking some proposed tax breaks away from corporations.

The amendment is facing an uphill battle, as both the White House and Senate leaders have criticized the proposal.
